Nov 15 (Sunday) 2:00PM - WELSH VOICES hosted by Great Plains Welsh Heritage Center in Nebraska, a talk by Welsh-born Dr. Guto Rhys about WELSH ENGLYNION, a traditional Welsh short poem form that relies on strict syllable counting, precise end-rhymes, and cynghanedd—a complex internal harmony of consonant alliteration and accent. It is one of the oldest attested stanzaic metrics in Welsh literature, dating back to the 9th century, and can be found both in Wales and here in the US. RSVP and link to follow.
